Little Pearls Nursery in Exeter was established in 2023, evolving from its previous identity as Horizon Childcare, which opened in March 2016. Initially, it served as an affordable childcare solution for employees of a local domiciliary care company, expanding to the general public in 2017 due to increasing demand.
The nursery grew in 2019 to accommodate more children and later became an independent entity as Little Pearls Nursery Limited. The nursery operates with a homely and personal ethos, caring for up to 55 children daily across three rooms, fostering a comfortable setting for families.
It provides two spacious outdoor areas equipped with various play amenities like a playhouse, mud kitchen, sand area, and dinosaur world, usable in all weather conditions. The curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, enhanced with a personalised approach, natural resources, and engaging activities.
Safeguarding is a top priority, with a rigorously vetted team, ongoing training, and strict safety measures. Communication with parents is maintained through informal discussions, observations, parent evenings, and daily updates via the Famly online system, along with monthly newsletters and biannual surveys to gather feedback.
The nursery offers flexible hourly bookings and a holiday rebate.

Inclusion & environment
At times, some staff are not fully aware of the learning intent when implementing activities and do not adapt learning to meet all children's needs. This means that support is not always targeted effectively to help ensure children make the best possible progress.
Outside, children enjoy developing their climbing skills and riding on bikes. Children show precision and confidence in their fine-motor skills.
Great friendly staff that provide the best care! Couldn't recommend more!
