How they support every child

SEND provision

Leaders monitor staff's practice closely and identify where there may be gaps in practitioners' knowledge. They arrange targeted training, such as qualifications in working with children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to strengthen staff's confidence and expertise. Practitioners have also recently joined an online Makaton course to support children with speech and language delay. Practitioners use visual cues and sensory resources to support children with emerging special educational needs and/or disabilities. These thoughtful adaptations ensure that every child can access the curriculum, participate fully and make meaningful progress.

Outdoor space

Leaders regularly evaluate practice to ensure that children gain the most from their time at nursery. For example, they identified that children were waiting too long while the whole group prepared to go outside. In response, practitioners now take smaller groups out, reducing waiting times and improving the flow of routines. This also creates smaller groups indoors, enabling children to engage more meaningfully in activities.

EAL / language support

The report mentions that practitioners have recently joined an online Makaton course to support children with speech and language delay and to promote inclusive communication across the setting, which would benefit children with English as an additional language.

My son has adored every second of every day he’s attended the Nursery & Preschool. They’ve worked wonderfully with him as an individual and helped him thrive. From previous bad experiences at other nursery’s then joining Little Peoples it’s been amazing and they go above and beyond for each child. Helping them to feel safe and cared for whilst updating and including parents. I can’t have asked for more. THANK YOU!
