Inclusion & environment
Leaders are committed to supporting children with SEND and thoughtfully use additional funding to provide equipment and experiences, including a sensory room. However, key staff do not always understand how to implement children's learning plans effectively, and information about learning is not always shared with parents, which can affect children with SEND in making progress.
Staff ensure that children have regular opportunities to exercise indoors and outdoors. Children enjoy action rhymes, balancing and catching games. These activities help children to develop their large muscles, spatial awareness and coordination.
Staff promote children
My son is 3 years old and autistic and finding the right nursery was a real challenge, but myself and mum are over the moon and very relieved to find such a gem of a nursery that caters for all our son's needs. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the nursery has a family feel to it, which helped my son settle in quite quickly and I could see his joy in the mornings when he knew he was going there. This is a boy who would kick and scream every time we took him outside unless he realised we were going to the park or soft play centres. Due to autism he doesn't speak much but now he's coming back home singing songs and saying actual words. He even picks up food at times and eats it, which was a challenge throughout the last couple of years. We are overjoyed that our son is receiving all the care, love and attention he needs from a very talented and special team of carers, especially Mirea and Janine. Isabella, Tedessa and Kamara are just a breath of fresh air to deal with.
