How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who face barriers to learning and/or wellbeing use a variety of strategies to support their communication, such as 'now' and 'next' cards. They are identified quickly for timely support, and personalised support plans are shared with families and regularly updated.

Outdoor space

Staff plan learning across the areas of development, including physical development, and provide opportunities for children to be active, both indoors and outdoors. Older children are encouraged to take off their shoes and put wellingtons on before going outside, with support from staff.

EAL / language support

The nursery implements effective strategies to support children who speak English as an additional language, including the introduction of the Makaton communication method to further support early communication and language development.
