About this day nursery

Little Troopers Day Nursery is a childcare facility catering to children between 10 months and 5 years old. The nursery aims to provide high-quality care with a focus on a comprehensive and fair admissions policy that welcomes children and staff from diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs.

They operate a booking system on a first-come, first-served basis, prioritising siblings of current attendees. Interested families are encouraged to join a waiting list, and upon acceptance of a place, a non-refundable registration fee and a holding deposit are required.

To ease the transition into nursery life, they offer home visits for local families or phone consultations for those living further away, along with free trial sessions for children to familiarise themselves with the environment and staff. Children are required to attend a minimum of two full-day sessions per week to foster a positive relationship with their key person.

The nursery also participates in various government-funded Early Education Entitlement schemes and accepts several employer voucher schemes to assist families with childcare costs. They continually review their fees and offer discounts for older siblings and full-time attendees.

Rebecca runs a well organised and motivated team who all enrich and develop each child’s early years’ experience. Set in a gorgeous Victorian building, the small classes and fantastic pupil/staff ratio are second to none and the creative and well thought out learning objectives of each themed project are clearly layed out for both parents and children. And then extremely well executed by all staff. I have 15 years’ teaching experience, have been a governor of a primary school, and my son has attended Little Troopers for two years - my daughter will also be starting in a month - and I have personally recommended Little Troopers to many of my friends who have subsequently sent their children there too. My son has thrived in such a nurturing environment and he loves the structure of the day with a balanced combination of free play, and group or one to one tasks, which gives him a real understanding of what is in store for him and will prepare him for school in September.
