About this day nursery

Little Willows Childcare, situated in the picturesque Suffolk countryside, was established with the vision of offering a caring, encouraging, and enriching environment where every child can thrive. Drawing inspiration from its sister company, The Willows Child Development, the nursery focuses on play, nurture, and nature-based learning.

The founders, with considerable experience in early childhood education and a profound dedication to holistic child development, aimed to create a space where children feel valued, understood, and at ease. The nursery embraces a philosophy of compassion and understanding, respecting and including all children while fostering curiosity and exploration.

Safety and well-being are paramount, with a commitment to providing a secure, trauma-informed space. The team focuses on nurturing confidence, resilience, and self-esteem, empowering children to grow at their own pace.

Emphasis is also placed on building strong connections and a sense of community to support each child on their journey.

Our ethos

At Little Willows, we lead with empathy, meeting each child where they are. We understand that every child is unique, and we tailor our approach to meet individual needs, providing a warm, accepting environment that supports emotional and social development. We believe in celebrating diversity and honouring each child’s individuality. Our nursery embraces an inclusive ethos, ensuring every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to express themselves freely. We foster a spirit of curiosity, encouraging children to explore, ask questions, and discover the world around them. Through Forest School principles and play-based learning, we create hands-on experiences that ignite wonder and a lifelong love of learning. The physical and emotional wellbeing of each child is at the heart of what we do. We are dedicated to creating a safe, trauma-informed space where children feel secure, supported, and free to be themselves. We see every interaction as a chance to empower children with confidence, resilience, and self-esteem. Our team is committed to nurturing independence and helping each child grow in their own time, in their own way, with the tools to thrive both now and in the future. We believe in the power of strong, trusting relationships, both within our team and with the families we serve. By building a sense of community, we create a nurturing network of support that surrounds each child on their journey.

We couldn’t recommend Little Willow’s more! Our daughter has attended for the past year and has grown in herself so much. The confidence we have seen in her since she has been attending + the little friendships she has made have been amazing. She is thriving and has come on so far. Every day she skips in and cannot wait to see her Key worker and friends! The staff are incredible, they really look after the children like their own and really make you as parents feel comfortable! The support we have received has been fantastic. Any little ones who attend Little Willow’s are really so lucky! What a magical place ✨

Can not recommend Little Willows enough. Our little girl has thrived here! All the staff are so nurturing and child-centred in their care. They get to know your child and tailor the activities and support to meet their needs. Embracing nature and being outside is a key aspect of what we love about Little Willows. Our little girl loves being in their big garden exploring, and loves going on the nature walks. A fantastic nursery provision.

My 3 year old attended here for a year and all of the staff were incredible with him. He suffers from anaphylactic reactions and carries an EpiPen and I was always confident he would be safe in the hands of anyone at little willows. He loved every second of being here and the setting is perfect with the incredible outdoor areas and forest school atmosphere. I was so happy with the care he received here and the communication between staff and myself, that his 1 year old brother now attends here too. It took him a while to settle in and all of the staff were amazing in helping with the transition. The care, communication and daily/weekly updates are exactly what every parent needs to feel confident their children are safe and well looked after while at nursery. I would confidently recommend little willows to anyone searching for a nursery in this area!

Our Daughter started with Little Willows in September and we have been thrilled with the environment, team and her development in such a short space of time. Our Key Person, Leanne, has been great with communication and caring for our daughter and we really couldn't be happier. Like any little one with a big change there was some tears to begin with but after 2 weeks our Daughter runs in with a smile on her face ready to explore the days actives! Can highly recommend Little Willows and we are excited to continue to see our Daughters development!

My son started at this nursery in March 2025 and at first was really unsure and unsettled (he had never been to nursery before). But due to the incredible staff it soon became a place he couldn’t wait to go to. He has now absolutely flourished and thrived in his social skills, communication skills and learning so much through play. I have no faults with the nursery at all, the environment is incredible for little ones, every single staff member is approachable and super friendly, they are great with communications and so accommodating. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. Also my son absolutely loves the outdoors and the nursery garden is amazing!
