About this day nursery

Littleways Day Nursery offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for children across two locations in Manchester. Both settings are dedicated to providing excellent early years care, with a team of highly qualified and experienced practitioners.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework guides all practices, encouraging children to learn through play and explore their natural curiosity within their surroundings. The nursery prides itself on a flexible approach to sessions, including term-time only options and early drop-off facilities, to accommodate diverse parental needs.

The Albert Road setting, housed in a converted residential building, provides a homely atmosphere with child-friendly resources and an all-weather outdoor play area with safety flooring and artificial grass. The Daisy Bank site, a purpose-built children's centre, boasts expansive outdoor spaces, including a forest school for nature-based learning, and a sensory room designed for relaxation and sensory exploration.

The nursery is highly regarded, with positive feedback from Ofsted and parents alike, who commend the friendly staff, diverse resources, and the personal touch that makes it feel like an extended family. The strong relationships built between children, staff, and families are a testament to the nursery's commitment to individualised care and development.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff have high aspirations for all children. They promptly raise any possible risk of delay with parents and, where appropriate, with other professionals. This helps children to get the support they need as soon as possible.

Outdoor space

The management team are keen to strengthen the provision for outdoor learning. Children of all ages enjoy daily opportunities to be physically active in the fresh air. However, on occasion, staff do not evaluate effectively changes in the outdoor temperature, meaning children are not fully supported to learn about wearing the most appropriate clothing when playing outside.

EAL / language support

Children who are learning English as an additional language are very well supported. Skilled staff understand the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had and use their expertise to access, monitor and promote early communication skills.

My twins have been attending Littleways for over a month now and have attended both sites. I was very anxious about the transition to nursery but the staff at Littleways have been absolutely fantastic. They were so supportive during the settling in sessions and took things at a pace in which I was comfortable. We are updated with their daily meals, sleep, nappy changes and pictures on an app. This is absolutely fantastic as it allows me to see what my children have been doing in the day. They have done so many new activities and have really developed their confidence. All the staff are very loving and caring towards my children and this has really reassured me. The management team are very receptive to any issues raised and they are promptly dealt with. I would have no hesitation in recommending Littleways to fellow parents.

We have been so delighted to see our daughter grow at Littleways and feel happy and confident in sending our little one there. She started at a year old and the staff have been amazing-they really care about the children and have been great at managing some of the issues arising from our daughter’s premature birth and subsequent surgeries. The food prepared is really good quality and they do such lovely activities with them all. We have been at both of their sites and would have no hesitation in recommending the nursery

Our daughter has been at Littleways for nearly 2 years and loves it there. The staff are so wonderful and caring and have really helped her come out of her shell. We get regular updates, the food offering is great and they've always been flexible when we have needed. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone!

Little ways is a wonderful nursery, and a seminal influence on my daughter. She has loved attending so much, has developed loads and describes the staff as her friends. I am always in awe of the range if activities they do, eg washing pumpkins, trips to Manchester museum and sports days!
