About this day nursery

Magdalen Nursery Sutton, established in 2019, operates Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm all year round, closing only for bank holidays and one week over Christmas. The nursery cares for children aged 1 to 4 years and was rated 'Good' by Ofsted at its latest inspection on 28th July 2022.

Children here explore confidently and independently in a happy atmosphere. The staff plan activities around specific areas of learning, ensuring a clear progression from babies to pre-school children.

Babies build strong bonds with their key person, helping them to settle, while pre-school children develop independence and readiness for school, even serving themselves lunch and cleaning up afterwards. The manager oversees a curriculum described as "Unique play for unique children," with a strong focus on communication and language development.

Staff are ambitious in supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), working alongside outside agencies to ensure every child can succeed. The nursery also provides support for children learning English as an additional language, using language cards and incorporating other languages like French into discussions.

All children have opportunities to access the outdoor area, where they are encouraged to manage risks and lead their own play.

My daughter started at Magadalen Nursery when she was just 6 months old because I had to go back to work earlier than I wanted. I was really nervous about leaving her, but as soon as I met her key worker, Saira, I felt totally reassured. She has been fantastic, and I can’t thank her enough for all the support she’s given us. Now, after 8 months at the nursery, my daughter is moving up to the next group! It’s amazing to see how much she’s grown, especially in her speech and physical skills, all thanks to Saira and Ester. The love and care from the staff, along with the fun activities they offer, have made such a positive impact.

When i moved to Sutton from abroad, i started searching for the right nursery for my son. Unfortunately, i couldn't find the one that i could trust sending my child to, so i decided to keep him at home and do my best educating him...till one day, when someone mentioned to me Magdalen nursery! It's a pretty new nursery so that's why i didn t check it in the beginning. The moment i entered the door of the nursery, i felt this is a different nursery of what i have seen before. It's so clean and spaceful, with a beautiful layout. The staff is amazing, and i mean all the staff! My son is extremely happy there and he is developing so well. I liked so much this nursery that i even sent my daughter, even if i was not planning to sent her at such an early age. Both my kids settled so well, surprisingly well, and i know it is because of the practicioners there who are so involved with the kids and so kind. I couldn't have made a better choice.

An excellent nursery. They’ve taken such great care of my little one and they provide daily updates in person and weekly updates online with photos so you can see what they’ve been doing.
