What it's like

The weaknesses in the teaching of the curriculum mean children do not consistently benefit from high-quality teaching and learning opportunities in all areas of learning. When opportunities for greater engagement in learning arise, children enjoy taking part in activities, for example, mixing paint to create their own pictures or babies learning to climb on soft play. However, these opportunities are not consistently available to all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those facing barriers to achievement, due to a lack of individual support.

Pricing & funding

Fees are payable in advance on the first day of attendance, with a minimum booking of two days per week. Charges continue to apply during illness, bank holidays, and Christmas, but parents are not charged for the week the nursery closes in August.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities do not fully benefit from consistent implementation of the support they need to access the full curriculum. Although leaders have secure processes in place for identification of support, the implementation of the support is inconsistent, and staff do not typically give the support that children need to be able to access the full curriculum.

Outdoor space

Children have daily opportunities to play outside to support their physical development. For example, children show that they like to jump off items in the garden and throw sand in the garden.

EAL / language support

There are no clear processes to understand children's overall language development for children who speak English as an additional language. As a result, staff are not able to accurately assess children's overall development to understand how to provide further support.

It took me quite a long time to decide where to let my son go to nursery as I am a very over protective and anxious mum but we found here and thought before we make our mind up we will contact the nursery and see if we can come and have a look around. When we got there it was VERY secure! We got told that mobile phones are not allowed due to the safety of the children which is something I personally love! We were welcomed by each member of staff and introduced and best of all my son was allowed to have a wander around and get involved with the other children whilst I got told the information I needed. The manager Kelly was very informative of who works there and what spaces in the nursery were available to my child. They also have a personal chef who cooks the food and the menu is very yummy and it is healthy but also appealing to children! Pancakes being the top choice I personally think! Most importantly I got asked what MY child likes and what HIS routine is and is there things that I wouldn’t want for him. I also got given the option to whether or not I’d like him in the baby room because he is under 2 years but he is my 3rd child and he loves being around older children so me and Kelly both agreed it would be better for him to not be in the baby part and that was the best decision. After we had a look around Kelly shared an email where I got given the prices for the sessions and asked if there were any questions. Also the dates and times for his trial sessions to settle him in. He absolutely loved both of the sessions so we decided it was the right choice!! He now gets super excited when I tell him it’s nursery time and when standing outside he knocks on the door telling them to “come on” so he can go in and play!! Another thing I absolutely LOVE is their is an app where the nursery share photos of what my son has been up to throughout the day, what milestones have been reached, when and what time his nappy has been changed and also whether it was wet or soiled, what he has eaten and how much! Honestly really really informative!!! I cannot fault the nursery at all and we are very happy with the decision we made to bringing him here!

An amazing nursery with a truly caring and professional team. The staff create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to learn and grow. Communication with parents is excellent, and it’s clear how much love and attention goes into everything they do!

There is an older woman with glasses who works at this nursery who I CONSTANTLY hear berating the kids and speaking to them horribly. As I write this, she's shouting at the children and speaking to them as if her teeth are clenched. Shes with another younger member of staff who is speaking to the children lovingly and with a calm but firm tone, and this older woman is being horrid. I live next door to this nursery and every single time she works I hear her shouting at the children. She needs to be taken out of this nursery and not have a job is she's going to speak to the kids like this.

My son has been at Maggies for 2 months now and is Absolutely loving it. The staff and management are lovely. He absolutely enjoys going and has the best time.

This nursery used to be very well managed and run effectively but has gone downhill since last year. The management is the worst you can think of, from not responding to any official emails or queries. Secondary,your child can be sent home in a heavily soiled nappy and dirty clothes from eating ( whilst there are new clothes in their bags) running nose not clean and dirty environment. They smile in the faces of parents but extremely rude and disrespectful. It has taken me almost a year to write this review because of what my child went through. He is happy now in a new nursery, always clean and small classes where he is now. Please think twice before enrolling your kids here.
