About this day nursery

Martin Luther King Adventure Playground, situated within Paradise Park in London, offers a unique play experience for children aged 6 and above. Operated by Islington Play Association (IPA), this facility emphasizes a "play service" approach rather than traditional childcare. The playground, established in 1968 and named after the civil rights activist, aims to provide a peaceful and inclusive environment where all children can play together. It offers a variety of daily activities and is open to children free of charge during term time and school holidays. The playground also provides a paid childcare service at certain times and is available for private hire, including children's parties, offering various hourly rates. This historical site, once a demolition area, has evolved into a vital community asset, fostering creativity and open access play while upholding the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Please note, while the playground states it runs a paid for childcare service, the provided text also states "At present Islington Play Association does not provide any childcare for children aged 6 and upwards." This appears to be a contradiction in the source text.

Currently closed at the moment - lockdown- ofcourse but interesting range of materials. My kids actually go to the toffee park one down by the city which is a bit more "over grown". This one is pretty open , windswept and light.

Great fun... but pretty "old school". It's certainly not a sanitised playground with zero danger, but it's fun if they are supervised.

I have fond childhood memories of this place during the late 80s and 90s. This was the place I would come to a lot when I was a kid.
