How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive good support. Staff understand their individual needs and work closely with outside agencies, such as speech and language therapists, to ensure children make the best possible progress.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy the time they spend outside in the newly refurbished garden. Toddlers transport sand in trucks and experiment as they roll cars and trucks down ramps to see which ones move and which stay still. They negotiate different slopes and surfaces with confidence. Older children balance on a cantilever as they carefully walk across a plank and work out the tipping point.

I honestly can’t rate this place highly enough. My daughter is 16 months old, and it warms my heart to see how excited she gets the moment we arrive. Knowing she’s genuinely happy and settled with the staff is such a huge relief. This morning, as I was dropping her off, I walked past the kitchen and heard one of the older children upset. I glanced in and saw a member of staff gently cradling her, calming her, and showing her all the lovely things in the kitchen. It was such a beautiful moment and really showed the level of care they give. I was so nervous about leaving my little one so I could return to work, but I’m genuinely grateful she’s here. The staff are wonderful, the facilities are fantastic, the food is all homegrown, and they’re always so accommodating. Even my eldest tells me she wishes she could go to nursery with her little sister! 😃

My son has attended mayfield house since he was only 1 year old and will shortly be leaving to attend school. I cannot rate mayfield house highly enough. The emphasis on outdoor play and on site home grown food was key. The staff have been wonderful and any issues we have had were always dealt with quickly and efficiently. Thank you to Heidi and the team for the last 3 1/2 years.

I love the values and ethos of Mayfield where the child is at the centre of everything they do. My eldest has left now but often recalls fond memories of Mayfield where she baked apple cakes, picked cherries and took a trip to the allotment. I can’t wait for my baby to share the same experiences!

This is a wonderful Kindergarten. My daughter has been going since she was 2 and having been in a childminder environment this was the BEST decision we made. Since attending she has developed so much more and absolutely loves going, so for me this speaks the most for Mayfield. The staff are attentive, supportive and caring, my daughter has formed bonds with all members of staff and the children. The environment speaks for itself with both indoor and outdoor space, together with home cooked food and so many creative activities that they take part in. I cannot thank Heidi and the staff enough and would highly recommend Mayfield Kindergarten

A truly wonderful kindergarten with excellent staff and facilities. My youngest loves going here, he cannot wait to get out of the car when we arrive. They have a lot of activities on offer including plenty of time out in the fresh air and let’s not forget the amazing tree house and of course the home cooked meals which are a definite hit. Would wholeheartedly recommend Mayfield House Kindergarten.
