Merry Go Round Under Fives is a nursery and preschool situated within the spacious grounds of Hartsfield JMI School in Baldock. Established in October 1987 as a parent and toddler group, it expanded in 1989 to include a playgroup for 2-3 year olds, and further in 2012 to welcome 3-4 year olds for their Nursery year.

The nursery is dedicated to fostering a love for learning in a nurturing and stimulating environment, preparing children for their future education. Their experienced educators focus on key areas such as personal, social, and emotional growth, physical development, and communication and language skills, offering a well-rounded curriculum that includes literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff work closely with parents and other professionals to provide children with personalised support plans and implement individual strategies to help them make the best possible progress. Any additional funding the setting receives is precisely targeted to support children

Outdoor space

Children benefit from frequent access to the outdoor area where they develop good physical skills and assess their own risks. For instance, children develop strength and stamina as they persevere to climb the climbing wall to reach the slide.

My sons loves his time at nursery. The ladies seem to be personally invested in his development and do everything in their power to help. I couldn't have hoped for a more wonderful setting and group of people to entrust my sons care with. He also comes home with the most adorable crafts ❤️
