Millers Dene Day Care CIC, situated within the Walkergate Early Years Centre, has been an integral part of the community for over two decades. Starting as a small playgroup, it has expanded into an 83-place full day care nursery, offering provisions for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Operating 51 weeks a year, from 8 am to 5:30 pm, the nursery closes only for bank holidays and one week during the Christmas period. As a not-for-profit organisation, Millers Dene Day Care is deeply dedicated to the holistic development of each child, encompassing their social, moral, physical, and intellectual growth.
The nursery strives to provide a secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment that enables every child to reach their full potential and achieve excellent standards, working in close collaboration with parents, families, and the wider community.

Children are very happy in this warm, welcoming nursery. Babies receive loving and affectionate care from staff, who sensitively look after them and respond to their needs well. Older children enjoy using their imagination and recreate known, familiar experiences.
Fees are structured by age band, split into under two years (0-24 months) and two years plus (24 months+). Parents can book morning sessions, afternoon sessions, or full days. Rates vary depending on the chosen session and the child's age group.

Inclusion & environment
Staff provide good support for children with additional needs. They are alert to delays in children's development and are confident in sensitively discussing these with parents. As a result, they are able to provide targeted support for children and liaise with other professionals where necessary.
This day care has been excellent over the past 3 years that my son has attended. He has developed so much & made some great friends here.
