Miss Polly's Nursery, located within The Hurst School, offers comprehensive childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Established in 1990, the nursery provides a stimulating, safe, and supportive environment designed to foster children's development through play.
They operate 51 weeks a year, offering both full-time and part-time professional care to both local families and those in surrounding communities. The nursery is divided into three age-specific rooms: Caterpillars for infants (0-2 years), Butterflies for toddlers (2-3 years), and Ladybirds for preschoolers (3-5 years).
In addition to indoor facilities, Miss Polly's boasts an enclosed garden, outdoor play area, and a woodland area for children to explore. The Ladybirds group also benefits from a weekly 'Stretch and Grow' class led by a qualified fitness teacher, focusing on body awareness, healthy living, and nutrition.
The nursery prides itself on its dedicated team of qualified Nursery Assistants who regularly engage in professional development to uphold high standards of childcare. Recent parental feedback highlights exceptional satisfaction, with 100% of parents reporting their child's happiness and safety, positive behaviour encouragement, and a strong likelihood of recommending the nursery to others.
Miss Polly's aims to instil self-confidence and self-esteem by providing a loving and secure atmosphere, and they highly value parental involvement, considering parents as primary educators.

Inclusion & environment
Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is a strength at this setting. The special educational needs coordinator works closely with external agencies and staff to help meet children's specific needs. The manager spends extra funding with integrity to, for example, provide one-to-one staff to support children and to purchase suitable resources.
Children enjoy some outdoor learning in the nursery garden and on occasion, they go for walks in the local community. However, the provision for such experiences is restricted to short, planned outdoor play sessions, which managers are mindful does not always enable those children who learn better outdoors to benefit fully.
Had an issue a few years ago with them when my son was little. Wont go into detail but wont be returning
