Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Overall, parents feel happy with the nursery and report the staff are friendly. However, they are not aware of some of the recent changes to staff or who their child's key person is.
Inclusion & environment
Provision is in place to monitor children's progress and any delays in children's learning are identified. Referrals are made to other agencies where needed and staff are aware of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language.
Older children practise riding scooters in the garden and develop their spatial awareness as they ride around wooden blocks that staff position outdoors.
Staff are aware of children who speak English as an additional language.
I made an enquiry with this nursery and, when they followed up later, I politely explained that my circumstances had changed and asked to be removed from their contact list. Despite this clear request, I received another phone call weeks later chasing the same enquiry. It was frustrating and disappointing that my request had not been recorded or respected. I hope the nursery reviews its internal processes so that people who ask not to be contacted again are properly removed from their systems.
Read on GoogleMy son has been going to this nursery for almost a year now. He has thrived a lot in the setting and enjoys himself every time he goes there. He loves the staff there also and always seem to have a good time. He has developed a lot whilst being there also. With the recent changes, we have noticed a difference in how things are run especially with certain staff leaving and no longer working there, a few things have gone a miss. He still has not been assigned a key worker since the last one leaving and occasionally when he has injuries some are documented and others aren’t. I have raised this with the management as it’s absolutely important to keep parents informed on the wellbeing of their children. I have been assured this is being looked into and will come with improvement moving forward. Unfortunately I am having to move my sons to another nursery due to personal reasons. I do hope with the feedback and parental concerns across the board, management take this seriously and improve as I believe this nursery does have potential and with the right staff with people management this nursery could thrive and become a good place to send your child.
Read on GoogleOur child has been at Monkey Puzzle Horsham for a few months now. He has settled in well here and enjoys his time. The nursery is clean, well equipped and well cared for. They keep us well informed of his day/morning and any minor bumps/bruises (totally normal for a 1 year old toddler) we get both a phone call and notified via the famly app as well as recording this when it has happened at home too, no concerns at all. He eats well there and is happy both going in and coming out. I know there have been some staffing turnover issues in the past and I can't speak to specifics of that but we've been very happy with Monkey Puzzle and have had this before with different nurseries for our other older children so are not concerned with this. Seems to happen in the industry sometimes. Thank you.
Read on GoogleMy child is in the 1-2 year room and I have found this nursery has responded very well to her needs. The workers in her room are very kind, attentive and caring and have really given her a lot of attention in this difficult transition period of her going to nursery from staying at home with me all the time. The early drop offs at 7.30 are incredibly helpful for working parents. In particular the married couple owners of the nursery have been really responsive and seem to be genuinely invested in the children's happiness and wellbeing. As this nursery is still quite new I am sure they will gain a great reputation over the years and I am so grateful for the care my daughter is receiving there.
Read on GoogleMy son was only here for few weeks but I was impressed by how friendly and caring the staff were. They provided a wonderful, safe environment which really helped his confidence grow. I was particularly impressed by how much his language and social skills had developed in just a short space of time. He left the nursery as a confident, happy 15 months old with the love of nursery rhymes.
