Mosaic Centre, established in 2005, operates year-round from Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm, providing childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in its latest inspection on 27th June 2023, the nursery offers a warm and welcoming environment where children are happy and eager to participate.
Staff ensure rooms are calm, helping children to settle quickly and engage in play with high levels of involvement, showing resilience and determination. The nursery places a strong emphasis on fostering a love of books, stories, and rhymes from a young age, contributing to good communication and language skills.
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well supported; staff identify individual needs early and collaborate with parents and other agencies to create tailored plans. Activities and resources are quickly adjusted to suit individual needs, ensuring a sense of achievement for all.
Children also benefit from exploring the outdoor area, learning about the natural world and developing good physical skills through activities like climbing and manoeuvring tricycles. The curriculum encourages early writing skills and promotes understanding and respect for different cultures and beliefs.
Parents have noted that their children become more independent and are very happy at the nursery, often not wanting to leave.

Inclusion & environment
Children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), use their key person as a base to explore the environment. Children with SEND are very well supported. Staff identify children's needs early. They work with parents and other agencies to put plans in place that meet children's individual needs. At times, when children struggle with a task, staff quickly adjust the activities and resources to suit children's individual needs.
Children explore the outdoor area and learn about the world around them. They show interest and excitement when they find some snails in the garden. Older children manoeuvre tricycles and scooters as they race up and down the path. They climb on the climbing frame and shout, 'I'm climbing!'
