Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents praise the range of creative and physical activities offered by the 'lovely' staff.
Parents report how much their children enjoy using the on-site 'soft play' and how they have mastered other new skills, such as riding a bicycle and writing their name, during their time at the setting.
Inclusion & environment
Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities well. They identify when children are in need of additional support and work well with external professionals and parents to promote positive outcomes for all children.
Children confidently move between activities and the indoor and outdoor areas. They have ample opportunities to be physically active, and they enjoy being outside, playing a limbo game, climbing on large log piles, racing their friends, and rolling hula hoops down the hill.
I send both my girls to this nursery and they love it. The staff are friendly, caring and always welcoming to the children and us. There’s plenty of outdoor play, crafts and activities, With lots of art coming home! In the winter, the different classes take it in turns to use the soft play at Explores Soft Play after they’ve had their tea. These are my children’s favourite days! We receive weekly reports with photos showing what the children have been doing in each room, as well as daily updates on meals, nappies and sleep. Which is great Child safety is a top priority here, with strict procedures for pick-ups and well-managed emergency contact protocols. I feel very confident leaving my children in their care and would highly recommend this nursery :)
Read on GoogleIf you're thinking of sending your child here, just don't. My daughter was here for a grand total of a month before I removed her and changed her to a more appropriate setting. Within that month, there were numerous red flags, one being that my daughter caught thread worm (she has never had this before going here!) and when I raised my concerns about this with staff asking for a notification to be sent to parents to treat their children for it too I was told that it wouldn't have come from there and that I needed to look at my own hygiene! The final straw for me was my daughter having an accident during her morning session - when I collected her, she had been crying and there was no member of staff near her. I asked her what had happened and she told me she fell over backwards and bumped her head; she said no member of staff came to help. When I raised this with a member of staff in her class, they were unaware of my daughter falling and hurting herself - she asked me if she had a bump on her head, to which I said "I don't think so", and she replied "well then". Later that evening, I sent an email to management explaining the situation and asked for an accident form to be completed; the response I got was that they had spoken with staff and they had said my daughter was consoled after the accident, that I was offered an ice pack for my daughters head as well as an accident form and that I declined. They completely fabricated the situation and failed to provide a duty of care for my child which completely destroyed any trust I had left in them being able to care for my daughter. From my experience of this setting, staff are completely under qualified, not welcoming or friendly and are more interested in sitting on their iPads than actually interacting with the children - every time I went in to collect my daughter it was dirty (I understand it will get messy, but I mean it was DIRTY). Children were walking around with mud on their hands and on their face and it was clear to me that good hygiene was not being promoted. There was also no register, so when you take your child in and when you collect your child, they are not accounted for - you literally just buzz in, collect your child and go. My daughter is now attending Angel Road pre-school and let me tell you, there is absolutely no comparison and honestly I wish I hadn't even bothered with Muddy Puddles in the first place. A horrible experience for both of us.
