About this day nursery

Nanny Bears Childcare, established in 2022, operates from a dedicated building within Greendale Farm near Exeter, offering a childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years. 45am to 6pm, the nursery provides a nurturing environment where children are happy and settled, forming strong bonds with kind and caring staff.

The setting follows the Hygge approach and received a rating of "Good" in its latest Ofsted inspection on 15th August 2024. The curriculum is ambitious, designed to challenge children and support their progress across all learning areas, fostering independence and resilience.

Children are encouraged to understand and express their emotions, contributing to good behaviour and positive interactions. Daily visits to the on-site farm provide exciting outdoor learning opportunities, allowing children to engage with real-life experiences and gain a deeper understanding of the wider world and animal care.

Toddlers and pre-school children benefit from sensory exploration activities, developing fine motor skills and vocabulary through practical tasks like cutting vegetables. While staff adeptly support children's understanding of healthy lifestyles through outdoor play and nutritious home-cooked meals, the setting is working on improving group times for better focus and developing strategies to support children who are less confident verbally.

Had the pleasure of sending our daughter to NB at Greendale for 2 and half years. It was simply amazing!! The team of staff helped turn our nervous daughter into a brave little girl ready for the bigger school environment. She enjoyed every aspect, from nature walks around the animals to one on one story times. I always found the staff to be very professional and caring to her needs, and an over protective daddies! Regular parents evenings kept us up to date with her development, but there was also always time for a chat at drop off and pick up. Highly recommend this team and company.

The most amazing nursery! My daughter started at 9 months old and left this year for school, she had the best time, they catered to her allergies brilliantly and looked after her with so much love and care. It really is like a little family, would recommended time and time again ❤️

My two children have been going to nanny bears since they were 8 months old. The ladies are amazing, they go above and beyond every day and I couldn’t wish for better ladies to look after my children 🤍
