Areas to develop

  • 1The nursery has a good variety of resources and toys. However, staff often overlook how these can enhance planned activities and children's learning. As a result, children frequently lose interest and motivation as they move from one activity to the next. In addition, staff observe children during their play and monitor their progress, sharing this information with parents and carers. However, they do not use this information effectively in their planning, which limits their ability to tailor teaching to support individual children's development.
  • 2Staff encourage children of all ages to participate in large-group activities, such as listening to stories and joining in action and movement games. However, staff overlook that some large-group activities are not suitable for all children, particularly for the younger and quieter ones. As a result, children lose focus and are not highly motivated to engage in purposeful learning.

From the moment my daughter started at this nursery at just seven months old, I knew I’d made the right choice. She’s been going for two years now and the care, love and effort the staff put in has been amazing. It really is a home-from-home environment. My daughter has always felt safe, settled and comfortable there, and the staff have supported her through so many milestones, from being a tiny baby to the confident, happy little girl she is now. She’s built such strong bonds with the team, which says everything about how caring and consistent they are. Communication is brilliant. The nursery uses a parent app that’s updated throughout the day, so I can see everything my daughter has eaten, when she’s had her nappy changed or been to the potty, when she’s slept and woken up, and they also upload photos of the activities she’s been doing. It’s so reassuring as a parent and really helps you feel involved in your child’s day. Zylah is always happy to go in, she walks in each morning with open arms to all the staff and comes home at the end of the day with a big smile on her face. That alone tells you how safe, loved and happy she feels there. What really sets this nursery apart is how welcoming and family-like it feels. The staff genuinely care, not just about the children but about the parents too, and that makes such a difference. I'm so grateful for everything they’ve done for my daughter over the past two years and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a caring, supportive, home-from-home setting for their child.

We are so sad to be leaving Nanny Jane’s due to our recent move, as our son has absolutely loved his time here. From the very beginning, the team have been amazing, so welcoming, accommodating and genuinely caring. He has come on so much during his time at the nursery and we truly believe that’s down to the support, encouragement and nurturing environment the staff provide every single day when he’s there. The communication has always been fantastic and we’ve especially loved the app they use to keep us updated, it’s been so reassuring seeing what he’s been up to and how his day has gone to photos of him playing and going out of the nursery in day trips etc A special thank you to the baby room team, particularly Jaydine, who has been such a wonderful key person. She’s always been so friendly, supportive and understanding. It’s clear how much they all care about the children. The staff are nothing but an amazing team! We couldn’t have asked for a better start to his early years. Thank you all so much, we will truly miss you!

My daughter was only at Nanny Jane’s for a short while, and I’m gutted I didn’t put her there sooner! The staff are so kind and warm. They gave my daughter a wonderful start to nursery and independence and I cannot thank them enough! The nursery has a great ‘home’ feeling to it and my daughter immediately felt comfortable and happy. I would recommend this nursery to anyone!

Nanny Jane’s is a wonderful nursery with top-notch caregivers and clean facilities. We are from America and were initially attracted to other facilities that had more fancy accommodations or advanced syllabus. We quickly realized this was mostly show. Nanny Jane and all the team members care. Once there was an incident down the road that forced a closure for the day, Jane Anne (the owner) actually called every parent personally and offered in home care for those that desperately needed the assistance. I would give Nanny Jane’s 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much for your care these last few years. Archer and Adalyn will miss you all greatly.

I honestly can’t thank Nanny Jane’s nursery enough for all the love, care and support they’ve given me and my daughter over the years. They’ve truly been a village for us, especially through her diagnosis and have shown so much patience, understanding and kindness. The staff go above and beyond for every child and parent and you can feel how much they genuinely care. I will always recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for their little ones. We’re so blessed to have had them as part of our journey. ❤️
