Nightingale Nursery is a family-owned and operated group of two day nurseries situated in the East Midlands, with its Sawley branch established in April 1997 and its Castle Donington branch opening in 2013. Children are encouraged to embrace challenges with a positive mindset, recognising the critical role early years play in shaping a child's disposition towards learning throughout their educational journey and beyond. The leadership team is dedicated to supporting practitioners in delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum through ongoing staff development, professional dialogues, and reflective practices.

Inclusion & environment
Staff know the children well and work closely with parents to identify and meet children's individual needs. They are quick to recognise when children might benefit from additional support and take action to involve relevant agencies. This ensures that all children are supported to make progress.
Children benefit from frequent opportunities to go outside and get fresh air. They have fun as they engage in physical games, such as riding on wheeled toys and using equipment to climb and balance.
10/10. My children have been going there for 4 years now (the older one started school last autumn). We've never even considered putting our youngest in a different nursery. They both loved it, had absolutely no issues with settling in and adapting. The staff is AMAZING, super caring and supportive for both the children and the parents. Totally recommend.
Read on GoogleIt’s the best decision I made for my little boy, sending him to nightingale! From the moment I walked round, it felt homely and on his taster session he wasn’t even looking around for me! He started at 7 months for a short day a week, and he’s now 3.5 y/o, does 3 full days, and absolutely loves going! I have always felt so grateful that the staff treat him like he is family, they cuddle the children if they are sad, they have taught him lovely manners and sharing, and he loves books and learning as well as all the play they do. The staff are so brilliant, I don’t think they know how great they are! We recently attended a Christmas song concert for the pre-school and I was blown away! I know my little one will be more than ready for school when September comes because of Nightingale, even though he will be the youngest in his year. Thank you.
Read on GoogleA Truly Wonderful Nursery! Our son has been attending Nightingale Nursery for just over a month, and we are beyond grateful for the care and kindness the staff have shown. From the very beginning, we were amazed at how warmly he was welcomed. The team is always smiling, incredibly polite, and genuinely caring. Our son has always been very sensitive and had never been away from us before. We honestly couldn’t imagine him settling in anywhere else. But thanks to the nurturing environment at Nightingale, he now enjoys playing, sleeping peacefully, and has even started learning to feed himself using cutlery. What really stands out is the consistency and stability they provide. The staff remain the same every day, which makes such a difference for a child like ours who needs time and familiarity to feel safe. Knowing that he sees the same kind faces every morning gives us great comfort and helps him build trust and confidence. We also deeply appreciate the daily updates — complete with photos and a lovely summary of his day — which keep us connected and reassured. We can’t thank the Nightingale team enough for everything they’ve done. If you have a sensitive child who struggles with new environments, we recommend this nursery!
