Our ethos
The first years of life have a great influence on a child’s mind and character; thus, the aim of our nursery is to encourage the child to have a desire to discover, learn and gain independence. We believe that learning doesn’t just happen indoors – it happens in nature, through play, and in every meaningful moment of a child’s day. Our approach combines elements of the EYFS and Montessori philosophy, ensuring that children develop not only academic and practical skills but also emotional resilience, empathy, and confidence.

Inclusion & environment
Assessments are used well to help address any possible gaps in children's learning. All children make good progress from their starting points. This includes children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
Children benefit from fresh air and exercise in the nursery's well-planned garden. Young children increase their balance on bicycles and learn to walk on stilts, while older children learn to use swings independently and master climbing rope ladders. Children also extend their knowledge of the natural environment by collecting apples and stones.
Our 1.5yo has been at this nursery for 4 months now, and has been loving it. All staff are caring and fun. They implement a very helpful sleep routine for the babies which was key for our child to get settled in (and they put a lot of effort into getting him to nap in his current sleep regression phase...). There is a distinctive community feel which makes it a joy to go in every day, and to join events like the Christmas party (which was amazing). Would recommend to everyone.
Read on GoogleBeautiful setting and fantastic, warm, engaged staff. Our 20 month old has settled really well and we couldn't be more pleased with the nursery. The children have a wide range of activities to enjoy, are well fed, and communication between staff and parents is excellent.
Read on GoogleWhat a wonderful nursery! We spent a lot of time looking for a nursery in the area which we felt comfortable sending our 9-month old to for four days a week, and out of all of them that we viewed, this one just felt right. They have a wonderful garden and the Caterpillars room for the younger ones has plenty of space and lots of activities throughout the week. The main reason we chose this nursery is from the feeling that we got from the staff. They are genuinely caring and affectionate towards the children, and our baby thrives, and seems happy to arrive there every morning, with a big smile when we hand him over. This is the most important thing for us and it gives us piece of mind knowing that he is in good hands. Thank you very much for your great work so far!
Read on GoogleWe have been so happy with Oak tree since starting a few months ago. The staff are kind, caring and thoughtful. They all go out of their way to chat and give feedback regularly. Activities differ everyday and they even offer sports, yoga, dance and drama classes weekly. The setting doesn’t feel too cramped and the garden is brilliant, it’s so big and offers everything from Forest school to sand pit and Wendy house. Manager Jane is brilliant too, no question is ever too much and she always has time for queries and questions. We are very happy!
