Pricing & funding

Fees are charged on an hourly basis and vary by age group, with rate transitions occurring the term after a child turns two and three. Additional fees apply for non-funded hours, wrap-around care, and optional daily meals. Voluntary consumable and snack charges apply to funded core sessions.

The special educational needs coordinator works closely with other staff to ensure they provide an inclusive provision for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Children develop good physical skills in the well-resourced outdoor area, practising balancing, jumping and climbing on different equipment. Staff engage children in ball games, throwing and catching to help develop hand-to-eye coordination.

EAL / language support

Staff work effectively to support children who speak English as an additional language. Children show increasing confidence as they say some single words and begin to form simple sentences in English.

Absolutely incredible setting! Our son is so happy here and has flourished with his learning. The level of care and dedication the team provides is truly outstanding. It’s clear each child is nurtured, supported and encouraged in such a warm and positive environment.

Two of our children attended Oaklea Montessori Colchester St John’s and they both loved it from their first day there. The staff are kind, attentive and always put us at ease. The setting is lovely with engaging activities outside and inside. I always recommend Oaklea when asked by other parents.
