About this day nursery

The setting received a "Good" rating in its latest Ofsted inspection on 16 October 2024. Children attending the nursery settle in well and confidently engage with the various opportunities provided.

Babies are encouraged to learn new skills, while older children explore and experiment, for example, by making play dough to develop their small-muscle skills. Children are also supported in learning positive social behaviours such as taking turns and sharing, and developing independence through daily routine tasks like personal care and serving food.

The nursery is praised for its language-rich environment, where staff model language and encourage communication through babbling, talking, and singing. This includes supporting children who speak English as an additional language by using familiar words in their home language and visual aids.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to build on children's existing knowledge, with staff effectively using observations and assessments to track progress and identify next steps for learning. All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress.

Staff are adept at identifying developmental gaps and providing appropriate support, including making swift referrals to relevant professionals and working with parents. Parents are kept informed of their child's learning through daily discussions and a new online communication app, and speak highly of the dedicated staff team, feeling supported when they need guidance.
