About this day nursery

C. provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to learn through play, fostering their natural curiosity and development.

The philosophy centres on child-directed learning, where educators act as 'gardeners,' cultivating an environment that allows each child to flourish at their own pace rather than adhering to a rigid 'carpenter' approach. The curriculum is process-focused, valuing the learning journey over the final product, which cultivates creativity, resilience, and a lasting love for learning.

The club emphasises the neurological and holistic benefits of play, promoting cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. With flexible attendance patterns, including full-year or term-time only options and various funding choices, Our Monkey Club strives to make its services accessible while upholding high standards of care.

They accommodate diverse family needs, offering bespoke hours and payment plans. The club is dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and works closely with parents to ensure the best outcomes for every child.

Our ethos

Our Monkey Club embraces a "gardener" approach to education, providing the right environment, experiences, and opportunities for children to naturally develop and flourish at their own pace. They do not shape children into a preconceived mold but rather support their individual growth, nurturing their natural talents and interests as they emerge. Play is at the heart of their educational philosophy, fostering exploration, creativity, and experimentation in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Absolutely fantastic setting cannot recommend enough. Our little girl flourished here from a non verbal quiet little girl to a vibrant chatty confident little girl. We are so grateful to everything the staff did to help and ease our little girl in. She loved going and loved telling us all about her day. Child led is the way forward our little girl would never have managed to be told what she could or couldn't do. The only thing that caused issues was the fact it's a vegetarian setting and our little girl struggled to get comfortable with what was on offer they always had her safe foods on hand to help and the jiggled with menus to have something suitable to her available. If anyone gets to pick a key worker I recommend Amy we couldnt have had a better one. Thank you for absolutely everything we are gonna miss you all so much xxx

Our son absolutely thrived from his time at this nursery, so much so he would ask to go on the weekends 😅 he loves all the staff here, I love their nurturing & child led approach to learning and their professionalism. Their communication via a parent App is impeccable, it was so reassuring being able to see what our son was up to throughout the day. We can't wait to get our daughter started here after Christmas.

My son is the happiest child when taking him in Our Monkey club Nursery. I was putting the idea on the side for a long time, because as a parent you want for your children the best and classic nurseries for us weren't an option. I was looking for something that would enhance my child's mind and respect his personal development phases. Our Monkey club is a great place for children as they flow through the process of growing up through their personal development. No rush, no expectations, just letting them be as they are and respecting them in a wonderful way. They are the one that lead the day. Setting is open plan and they have enough outside space as well. Children are encouraged to spend most of the time outside. There are stations all over the settings where children can do many amazing stuff for their development, from reading in a shed, to playing in a shop or sandpit, to cooking in a muddy kitchen. There are also few balance bikes at the setting and they love using them. They learn through the play. The educators approach is different to the classic one, as they here are very much involved in the play in the different stations. My child feels very happy, confident and safe going to the nursery and in a Month that has been their member has shown many new developments and has created many new, for him very important bonds with his friends. If you want a nursery, that looks at your child as an individual and helps him enhance his talents and needs, this is the perfect place to put your little one in it.

Our son was moved to the donisthorpe monkey club after a bad experience elsewhere. He was happy and settled and really enjoyed going to nursery as soon as we moved him. The team were fantastic at supporting him in settling in and making him comfortable. I cannot recommend them enough. We will Be continuing to use OMC for wraparound care in September. Thanks so much to all the team!

Our little boy has been attending the Donisthorpe setting for 2 years and also been to the other 3 on occasion. He absolutely loves it and is excited to go every day. As full time working parents it's so hard to make the right choice for who will look after your child all day but I am confident we have made the right choice- we love OMCs child led ethos and it is really evident that it creates well rounded, confident and happy little people
