Ovingham & District Under 5s is an independent charity established in 2002, offering early childhood education in Ovingham. The nursery focuses on preparing children for their next stage of life by developing motor abilities, thinking skills, and fostering healthy interactions with peers.

Fees include a daily charge for healthy snacks. Parents are also required to make a one-off payment in the first term for a starter pack containing essential items. Extra hours are charged at an hourly rate for children who do not receive funding.

Inclusion & environment

There is a strong focus on children playing outdoors and exploring nature. Children benefit from fresh air and exercise daily in the nursery garden and woodland area. Children learn to climb, run, throw, balance and spin during outdoor play.

Ovingham & District Under 5s registered in 1999 and is located on Northumberland. The nursery employs five members of childcare staff, four of whom hold appropriate early years qualifications at level 3 or above, including one member of staff at level 7. The nursery opens from Monday to Friday, during term time, with sessions from 8.45am until 3pm. The nursery provides funded early education for two-, three- and four-year-old children.
