Paint Pots has been absolutely wonderful for our son, who is 4. When we arrive each morning, the staff greet us with smiles and such a warm welcome and asks us about our night and remembers the things my son likes. He loves the singing and group activities most of all and often comes home singing a new song. The outdoor space is another highlight. He really enjoys playing in the garden and considering the location there's good space round the back. The staff are caring and clearly passionate about what they do. They are patient with my son in particular who takes a bit of time to warm up to new people but the second week he was there they setup all the dinosaurs because they knew that is what he liked. We feel very reassured knowing he’s happy, supported and thriving and we recommend Paint Pots to all parents we know.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience with Paint Pots Nursery, Portswood. Although my child does not yet speak clearly, he is able to express his feelings and experiences in his own way. He consistently showed fear towards a staff member. At drop-off, he would start crying and screaming upon seeing her, and he expressed that she often scared at him or punished him, which caused him significant distress. This experience had a noticeable impact on his wellbeing. He became anxious, developed fevers after nursery, and would wake up at night appearing frightened and distressed. This was extremely concerning for us as parents. We were also unhappy with the level of care provided regarding his basic needs. Nursery staff were frequently told that he was not eating or drinking, yet it did not appear that enough support or encouragement was given. Communication around this was minimal. When our child was unwell, there was no follow-up or concern from management. His absence was simply recorded as “absent,” without any enquiry into his health. Additionally, he often came home wet after outdoor play, and we were told this was due to going outside. This happened regularly, and he would often develop a temperature or fall ill soon after. Additionally, during the three months my child attended the nursery, we were never provided with a menu card. Nursery management informed us that they do not receive a separate menu card for vegetarian meals from Hungry Monsters. As a result, it was unclear whether my child’s dietary requirements were being properly considered, which we found concerning. Overall, we found the staff to be unapproachable and poor in communication, with little effort to engage with us about our child’s wellbeing. This experience was extremely disappointing, and we did not feel confident that our child was being cared for in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

We have always loved Paint Pots. The meals from Hungry Monsters are always well thought out, nutritious and my daughter normally eats it so not sure why anyone would have an issue with them it's never been a problem. Staff in the baby room talk nicely to my little one and I've never had a problem when I needed a chat. The one time I had an issue with a snack it was resolved quickly. Lots of space for my little one too. Highly recommended.

My son left the nursery and has told me that harkiran and lisa used to scare him and shout at him , also other kids . He is traumatised by this , he also had lots of his clothes and a pair of new Nike shoes stolen from the nursery. the nursery does not care at all and didn’t bother to look. The staff seem to always be running around headless and not know what they are doing hiring anyone even with no experience, it seems that staff members boss eachother around and make it unpleasant also uncomfortable. I also used to see when I pick my son up the staff dragging kids By their arms and not talking so nice to them . I wouldn’t recommend as I have seen staff members treat each other maliciously . Awful for the amount of money you are paying, the food sizes are interesting to say the least non existent . I never came from Poland for this kind of treatment .
