Parkside Day Nursery is a beautifully restored Victorian three-story building in Hull, offering 39 childcare places for children aged birth to five years old. The nursery focuses on providing a nurturing "home from home" environment where children can develop a lifelong love of learning.
The premises feature a dedicated floor for under 2s with a rustic woodland theme, and a preschool room across two linked spaces with direct access to a large, secure outdoor area. The outdoor space is being developed to support a Forest School approach, encouraging year-round outdoor learning.

This ensures care and education given to children is consistent, while the new staff team continues to form and develop.
Fees include snacks, meals, and play materials, but parents must provide nappies and wipes. A weekly consumable charge applies to cover items not covered by government funding. Additional charges are made for lunch and tea taken during funded sessions.

Staff quickly identify when children require additional support. This early intervention ensures children have the required input from the start and they are able to make sound progress from their starting points. Staff work with other professionals to review children's needs and targeted areas.
Children enjoy outdoor activities and learn how to manage different surfaces and steps. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
