Our ethos
We believe in providing an outdoor space for children to enjoy as part of our commitment to providing experiences that are tailored towards their unique needs and interests. Our approach facilitates child-led learning, allowing the natural interests of children to flourish.
What it's like
Children settle well and have warm relationships with staff. Staff take time to find out about babies' home care routines and comforters, to ensure that these are maintained at the nursery. All children gain useful skills in preparation for school and develop a good understanding of the world. Children also learn to take turns well and behave in safe ways.
Fees are split into care fees, meal and snack fees, and consumables. Care fees cover staff care and facilities, while meals, drinks, nappies, wipes, and sun cream are covered by separate charges. A registration fee or deposit is required to secure a place, with discounts available for siblings and Blue Light Card holders.

Inclusion & environment
Children gain good physical skills in the well-equipped outdoor area. For instance, children balance on tyres, steer wheeled toys and run and climb skilfully. Children have access to the outdoor area, though this is often at set times and sometimes does not support their choices.
Our daughter Mia has truly found a second home at this nursery. From the very first day, she felt happy and excited (occasionally even refusing to go home!). We’ve seen her grow so much since starting - she’s now speaking, singing songs, and surprising us with how much she knows. She absolutely adores her teachers, and from our experience, everyone is kind, patient, and genuinely attentive to each child. There are all of these small daily gestures that just really speak to staff thoughtfulness and care that we didn't see in other nurseries (our daughter's favourite is a daily fruit basket where every kid can get a fruit before going home). Massive thanks to nursery's manager Carollee and the whole team for creating such a warm, fun, and nurturing environment.
Read on GoogleMy daughter enjoyed her experience at Lavender Hill! Always looked forward to nursery days. Thank you to the lovely team & manager for having a secure environment and building my little one’s confidence!
Read on GoogleGlad to know management has changed. 1. The layout of the nursery remains the same & can lead to harm if the children escape and go into the kitchen w/out anyone noticing. 2. The summers are hot and they will not invest in fans, but choose to send home kids at the very last hour & expect parents to leave work at the last hour to collect children. 3. The change of staff is very frequent so staff is not loyal nor care for the children and leave the permanent staff to do most of the work and take blame. 4. ask about all the policies in place (illness, absent staff, symptoms and look out for staff /children ration which is contractual. 5. If you have SEND child, ask about staff in SEND training and hold accountable. 6. My list can go on and on.
Read on GoogleMy son has been in this nursery for 2 months now and I cannot recommend it enough! The staff are all wonderful, caring and committed. The nursery manager, deputy manager, room staff and the chef were all so invested in making sure my son settled in well. This has been a huge help as I was nervous about leaving him to return to a full time job at 6 months. I also get detailed feedback every day on how well he's doing. My son loves his key person and everyone else who takes care of him. He has made huge progress in his development since joining the nursery. The nursery staff support us with his weaning, mobility and other development needs. He gets so excited every morning when he sees the building, I think that's the best indicator of the quality of care he's receiving.
Read on GoogleThis nursery used to be good, then new managers took over, the manager Maria is the most rudest nursery manager i have ever met. Her customer service skills is appalling, from the time i met her it have been hard work dealing with her. She doesn't answer my emails and partner email at times, she have took her time to answer emails. I do find them rude at times with response. We only have one child so not experience with the old funding system, they make there invoicing so complicated. And don't seem interested in simplifying it for new parent. The staffs was lovely but these new managers acts as if they are doing you a favour. At the end i hated the experience so much i took my daughter from that nursery a place her with Lindell 2 mins away. Now my daughter is doing well. Great managers spend time to explain their billing system. Answer email within the day or next just lovely bunch of people. Do your research before using this nursery be careful i had the most difficult time dealing with them. I find them incredibly rude and when you are spending so much money you need a good bunch of people to look after your child and help you during the process. It is outrageous that when there are so many nursery out there you should put up with managers hanging up the phone on you, and not responding to your emails Gabriella
