Partou Oxton Day Nursery & Pre-School, located in a beautifully converted Victorian villa on Shrewsbury Road in Oxton Village, recently underwent a significant £1 million transformation. This investment has created a truly inspiring environment for children to learn and grow, earning praise from the Leader of Wirral Council.
The nursery is easily accessible for families across the Wirral, with nearby train stations and good road links. Each room, from the baby room to the pre-school spaces, has been thoughtfully redesigned and filled with brand new, age-appropriate resources to spark curiosity and creativity.
A special highlight is the purpose-built sensory room, a calm and immersive space that supports inclusive learning and emotional well-being for all children. The outdoor areas have also been completely landscaped, offering various zones for climbing, digging, splashing, and imaginative play, all designed to foster physical development, confidence, and independence in the fresh air.
The long-standing and dedicated team at Partou Oxton is another source of pride, building strong relationships with children and families and planning learning activities around each child's unique interests. The nursery provides a nurturing "home from home" atmosphere with spacious areas, including a soft play room, and offers healthy, freshly prepared meals from a seasonal menu.
They also have unique outdoor classrooms for fresh-air learning and dedicated free-flow play areas, including a separate pre-school to encourage independence and school readiness.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported very well. Staff respond quickly to any signs that children may be unsettled. The special educational needs coordinator works with other professionals to ensure that children's needs are met at the earliest opportunity.
Children use chalk to draw patterns on the concrete outside. They develop their physical skills by using their coordination to dig in the sand and use the slide with friends. Children have fun racing cars around the tracks outside and are encouraged to challenge themselves by considering how they set up balance equipment and navigate their way around it.
My little boy absolutely loves it here! He’s always so happy when we pick him up, and it’s such a relief knowing he’s in such good hands. The staff are all so kind, caring, and genuinely interested in the children. They look after him so well and have made such an effort to get to know him, which means a lot to us. We couldn’t be happier with the nursery and the lovely team who make it such a special place.
