  • Children benefit from an abundance of outdoor learning opportunities. They learn how to climb and balance over beams and do so with skill and determination because of the helpful guidance that staff provide.
  • Staff are nurturing and speak to children with kindness and respect. Children are extremely confident, settled and self-assured.
  • Leaders ensure that staff access regular training opportunities. A recent focus has been safeguarding training, including whistle-blowing procedures. Staff are confident in recognising if a child may be at risk or how to recognise inappropriate behaviour from a colleague.
  • Staff teach children essential skills in readiness for future learning. For example, staff help older children to recognise their name in print and the sounds that letters make. Children learn about making marks with various tools, such as pencils, chalks and paints.
  • Children's good health is well supported by staff. Leaders provide a varied and nutritious diet at mealtimes. Children are curious about and eager to taste new foods, such as spring onions.
  • Leaders place great emphasis on ensuring that children's emotional needs are met. They provide very well-considered settling-in sessions from when children start at the nursery.

We definitely made the right choice in choosing Whalley Meadows for our little girls when relocating to Whalley. We moved from a great nursery near York and were nervous about it not living up to that one but we needn't have worried. The continuity and genuine care for your children with low staff turnover is much better than many other nurseries and the forest school is a fabulous addition. Our girls have really enjoyed their time at Whalley Meadows and made good friends and know all the staff by name. Special thank you for the Christmas productions and graduation party, we particularly enjoyed those ourselves!

A wonderful, caring nursery with kind, warm and friendly staff who have always made all three of my children feel so welcome, happy and safe. At Whalley Meadows they developed confidence and left with many experiences and lovely memories to look back on. Thank you to all of the staff, you do such a great job and it is always noticed and appreciated.

We absolutely LOVE this nursery. Our little boy has attended since January 2023 and loves his time here. The staff are exceptional and give a level of care that is second to none. The activities they do are varied and aid development which is clearly evident. I am so happy leaving him here when I’m at work and wouldn’t send him anywhere else. It’s wonderful

The team are amazing! They always go above and beyond to give my son the best experience, he absolutely loves going to the nursery and I'll be sad when he leaves it really does feel like we are part of a family. The only negative I have is the menu is sometimes not very child appropriate so my son comes home hungry, so I think that should be looked at.

From the very first settling in visit, our experience has been amazing. The staff are really friendly and supportive and make you feel very comfortable, leaving your child in their care. The communication is brilliant and I cannot fault anything about the care they provide.
