Inclusion & environment
Staff make good use of assessments to identify when children may benefit from extra help in their learning. The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) works closely with external partners to create tailored plans for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). All children make good progress from their starting points.
Older children confidently use their physical skills and strength to carry planks to create balancing challenges. Children take part in planned physical sessions, where they learn the skills needed to play sports, such as football. When outside, older children act out the story of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' as they travel over small ramps.
My daughter has been attending Willowdene for just over two years, the nursery environment is great, there are always activities for the children to take part in, the food is great and there is lots of variety. The staff are incredible and create a safe & nurturing environment which my daughter thrives in. She has come on leaps and bounds with the support of the staff, her confidence in improving week by week. All staff celebrate my daughter’s achievements both big and small! Couldn’t recommend Willowdene more!
Read on GoogleMy child has been attending this nursery for over a year now and he absolutely adores it. The rooms are kept clean and have lots of natural daylight. The staff are so friendly and caring with both child and parents. Jess in the cygnet room is an absolute dream, my child adores her and the whole team (Alex, Hannah, Gill - EVERYONE) are all amazing. The staff are an absolute credit to the nursey and I feel so happy knowing my child is safe, happy and has lots of fun.
Read on GoogleMy son has attended Willowdene since he was 1 and he adores his time at nursery. He has made good friends in both peers and staff. We have found that communication is really great between home and nursery and staff are always up for trying things that we ask (for example no naps). I would say my son has flourished since attending and we will be more than happy for our newest addition to attend when he is 1 too.
Read on Google⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve been taking both our boys to the nursery for around three years now, and we’ve always been made to feel so welcome. Each of the staff go above and beyond, and you can really tell they love their job. They’ve been so accommodating with our shift patterns and always keep us updated, which gives us such peace of mind. How lucky we are to be able to leave our boys with such lovely women! They’re thriving — their confidence and social skills have come on so much, and they’ve made so many new friends along the way. One of our boys has just left for school, and the team prepared him for that big change amazingly well. Jess, Mia, Clare, hannah and Millie are just a few of the amazing team members who deserve recognition for everything they do — they truly make the nursery what it is.
Read on GoogleAdding this review after a couple of months experience with Willowdene. I have an allergy baby who hadn’t been away from me at all before bringing him here. Dawn and the team have created such a welcoming and nurturing environment, that even my clingy baby loves his time with them. They give consistent updates about the food the babies have eaten, nappies and activities through their app- which has definitely helped put this anxious mum at ease. They get to know the babies as if they are their own and cannot do enough to help, whether that’s to give you advice on nappy creams, to taking 10+ calls a day to let me know he is ok (as it was in the beginning). Their in house chef cooks amazing meals introducing the babies to lots of foods that they otherwise might not see. The whole team are excellent about his allergies, his food is labelled, on a different coloured plate and kept completely separate from the other children’s. He never goes without and has free from additions to his food or alternatives so that he isn’t left out. Could not recommend them more highly, especially when I have friends paying more in other nurseries and getting a considerably lower standard of care.
