Inspector highlights

  • The provider implements a highly effective curriculum that is well embedded throughout the setting. Children's individual needs and interests are considered seamlessly, and engagement, curiosity and interest are of a high level. Highly trained staff are secure in their knowledge of the curriculum, which ensures it is consistently embedded.
  • Intent for learning opportunities is robust, with extension and differentiation for different ages and stages of development. The curriculum is sequenced effectively to build upon what children already know and can do. As a result, children are deeply engaged and curious in their learning.
  • Providers involve children in environmental issues. Through their 'Eco Club', they make changes to their practice to improve the environment. The children's committee is involved in deciding on where improvements should be made.
  • The key-person system is robust in its implementation. Children are very settled and respond well to the staff in the room. They are secure in their attachments and do not become distressed or upset when adults move in or out of the room.
  • Providers complete robust analysis of tracking and observations to monitor children's progress. Gaps in learning are quickly identified by staff, and discussions take place with parents. Referrals to other agencies are made quickly to ensure support is gained as soon as possible.

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

My daughter attends Wilmere Lane Nursery School and loves the time she spends there. The staff in the nursery are so welcoming and are happy to help with any advice or concerns that I have. This makes me feel so reassured and happy to leave her in their care along with receiving regular updates and pictures of her having a lovely time.

Both my daughters have attended nursery and preschool here. My youngest still attends and adores going in. The staff are friendly and have a great rapport with Olive and keep us well informed. They are extremely supportive with anything I need parent wise and also assist with any medical needs Olive has, such as supporting Olive with her eye patches. The surrounding the children learn and play in are brilliant and they are always improving things for the children to have the best environment and experience. Their communication system is great and I am well informed of what Olive has been doing, eating and her development for her age. I would highly recommend this nursery and pre school to anyone considering taking there children here.

Both of my children have attended this nursery. The environment is like home away from home. Staff are all friendly, caring and professional. The nursery is constantly developing their provision to support the children's development. Both of my children have loved this nursery and I will be sad to say goodbye when my youngest child leaves.
