About this day nursery

50 am until 3 pm. All children attending the nursery have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

The nursery prioritises supporting children to develop appropriate communication skills tailored to their individual needs. Before children start, staff conduct home visits to gather information and help new children settle in smoothly.

Parents have noted their children often wish to stay longer, enjoying their time at the nursery, and they feel well-informed about their child's progress. Non-mobile children benefit from daily sessions designed to strengthen their muscles.

The nursery effectively uses additional funding to offer enriching activities, including access to a soft playroom for safe physical exploration and a sensory room with interactive projections, fostering different areas of development. Staff are skilled at responding to children's non-verbal cues and use visual aids, Makaton signs, and single words to support understanding.

The nursery maintains effective partnerships with parents and other professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to each child's development. Safeguarding arrangements are robust, with thorough background checks for staff and a clear understanding among the team of their responsibilities to protect children.
