Plaxtol Nursery School offers a nurturing environment for young children, encouraging independent exploration and learning through a variety of engaging activities. The daily routine incorporates structured play, sensory experiences, and outdoor learning within a beautiful rural setting.
Children are encouraged to choose activities that spark their interest, supported by a dedicated team. The nursery places a strong emphasis on developing social skills and emotional literacy through interactive circle times.
Healthy eating is promoted with daily snacks and a nut-free policy for packed lunches. The curriculum extends to Forest School sessions, allowing children to connect with nature and develop independence.
The day concludes with story time, fostering language development and imagination. Parents are kept informed of fee structures and term dates well in advance, with a clear policy on withdrawals and absences.
Minimum session requirements are in place to ensure consistency for the children.

Fees are charged per three-hour morning or afternoon session, with an hourly rate also available. Fees are applicable to children who are not eligible for funding or those taking additional sessions. Snack costs are charged separately on a termly basis.

Inclusion & environment
Some children need more support in their speaking and communication skills. Following lockdown, and the implications of COVID-19, some children need more support in speaking confidently and fluently at nursery. Staff recognise this well and are offering targeted support to those who need it.
