Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported. Managers and staff work alongside external agencies to quickly identify children who require additional support. A variety of different strategies, such as visual communication aids, are used to support children. Staff attend extra training to help them deal with the complexities which arise from some of the children's needs. This has helped children manage their feelings better and ensures they have access to the same opportunities and activities as their peers.

Outdoor space

Children love exploring the outdoors. They practise gross motor skills, climbing up the play house and sliding down. Children enjoy using a wide range of bikes and tricycles. They pedal and manoeuvre around obstacles, and use their problem-solving skills when they 'crash' into each other to work out how to untangle their wheels. They also find minibeasts in the garden and discuss what they need.

You want to be confident that the people you entrust to care for and educate you little ones, can indeed do so. We can truly say our daughter loves going to nursery every day, and we are always happy to hear of the exciting things she has been doing. She’s been going to Play & Learn since 2014, when she was 6 months old, and has flourished amazingly during this time. I believe she will truly be ready to start school because of the efforts of Play & Learn – It will be a bittersweet day when she leaves to start her next adventure at school. They always offer a wide range of structured activities focused on their ethos that children learn through play and are very creative - she's always coming home with something! The staff are really switched on, professional and friendly, giving consistent feedback and excellent advice when necessary. The facilities are excellent, and everything is always so clean and tidy. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to anyone looking for a local nursery.

Both my girls are at Play & Learn Nursery, my eldest first started when she was 10 months old and now she's 3½. All the staff are lovely and friendly! The layout of the nursery itself is perfect, very open, plenty of space and daylight. They are always doing lots of different things, painting, cooking, trips to the fire station and superhero races - can't recommend enough! x

My little boy loves going to Play and Learn, he is been making friends there and always goes in happily. The manager is lovey, really cares about children and often organising activities for them, recently kids have been for a great trip to Dudley Zoo, that everyone enjoyed. There are some amazing people working there, making sure kids are looked after and they get stimulated in order to learn and have a good time.

Absolutely fantastic! My son started at this nursery after lockdown had lifted and we were apprehensive given how long he had been at home and that it was a new nursery for him. We needn't have been. All of the staff have been so fantastic and he has settled in well. There are different activities daily with lots of variety and dedicated outdoor play areas. I cant recommend the nursery highly enough, thank you Play and Learn!
