Inspector highlights

  • The nursery has formed strong relationships with parents, encouraging family involvement in children's learning, such as with the 'travelling teddy bear'.
  • Leaders and staff are passionate about their role, using community links to expand children's knowledge, such as engaging with local police to learn about emergency services.
  • The nursery provides a toddler group twice a week, allowing children to become familiar with staff and settle quickly when they join the nursery.
  • Children take a keen interest in nature, using factual books and magnifying glasses to identify minibeasts found outdoors, and caring for a giant African land snail.
  • Staff ensure children receive daily opportunities to be outside in the fresh air, where they effectively develop their physical skills through activities like chalk drawings, water pouring, and climbing in the 'secret garden'.

Areas to develop

  • 1To further improve the quality of the early years provision, the provider should extend children's learning further and provide them with consistent challenges to help them make even more progress.
