About this day nursery

Playday at Milestone is a nursery located in Caversham, catering for children aged 3 months to 5 years old. The day nursery prides itself on offering a warm, caring, and secure environment, fostered by mature and experienced staff with strong Early Years and Foundation Stage backgrounds.

They aim to create a family-like atmosphere and adopt a unique, individualised approach for each family. The day nursery is divided into two age-specific rooms: "Cubs" for children aged 3 months to 2 years, and "Bears" for those aged 2 to 5 years.

Playday at Milestone focuses on child-led learning through "in the moment planning," where children explore and develop through play. They utilise personal learning journals to track development and ensure children meet the seven areas of the EYFS framework, introducing new concepts through play where needed.

A keyworker system ensures individual attention and strong relationships with families, including a focus week each term where parents contribute to their child's development. Pre-schoolers (3-5 years) also participate in small structured activities twice daily, covering phonics and numbers to support their transition to school and access the Foundation curriculum.
