Apple Trees Day Nursery in Wolverhampton offers a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where children are encouraged to develop their inquisitive minds. The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focusing on prime areas like Communication and Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social, and Emotional Development.
For children aged three and above, specific areas including Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts & Design are also incorporated. The nursery operates on a six-week cyclical approach to learning, with individual children becoming a "focus child" for a fortnight to ensure personalised attention and track progress.
This involves collaboration with parents to align learning goals with the child's interests and experiences. Apple Trees provides a natural and authentic environment with open-ended resources to encourage independence and "real-life" experiences.
The setting is carefully designed and resourced according to age groups, and includes an enclosed garden with a mud kitchen, outdoor sandpit, reading area, and climbing facilities. All staff are thoroughly vetted, trained in safeguarding, paediatric first aid, and food hygiene, with baby room staff having specialised training and experience with under 2s.
The nursery aims to be inclusive and provides a balanced approach between intentional teaching and child-led exploration to lay a strong foundation for future learning. Located in Bushbury, Apple Trees Day Nursery received an Ofsted "Good" rating in both June 2024 and February 2023, catering to children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported well to explore and discover safely to help them progress.
Promoting children's physical development and outdoor play is at the heart of the educational programme. Staff make good use of the outdoor environment to provide opportunities for children to take managed risks, such as using the swing, trapeze swing, and rope ladder safely.
My daughter attends Playdays and I can't speak highly enough for the warm, friendly, professional, environment. They have invested in an art studio, separate dining room and sensory room - this makes a refreshing change instead of cramming children into every bit of space. The garden is well worn due the amount of fun outdoor play time the kids all experience. I think the previous review from Zoe merely demonstrates the emphasis they place on recruiting the very best staff. All of which have made great relationships with my daughter. There's a reason this nursery has a waiting list.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended Playdays in Wolverhampton for the last two years and I have not one single reason to complain. In fact, I have every reason to sing their praises. My daughter is happy there, she loves the staff and I know this because I ask her regularly. They are warm, caring, supportive and always work with us to provide a united approach to my daughters development and communicate with us regarding her behaviour (good or bad!). Our second daughter will go there too, I have no hesitation in making that decision and that is due to the consistently excellent levels that Playdays maintain and the loving and supportive environment they provide. Playdays has the best reputation in the area and for good reason.
Read on GooglePlaydays Nursery is a welcoming environment that provides high quality care and love for all off our children. Staff members work together as a team and in partnership with parents to guide the children in developing and achieving. The practice from practitioners is at a very high standard which shows in our Ofsted reports. Playdays will continue to excel and maintain their professional service.
Read on GoogleI really don’t understand what these girls are seeing or saying!! My niece who I am the guardian for attends this nursery and everyday she can’t wait to get in and go play! She’s loves every single member of staff there and all the kids! They are so friendly and exceed expectations in the efforts and activities with the children and parents. My niece has never ever been ill from attending here so i never have assumed there is a bad hygiene problem. I would recommend this nursery to everyone! The staff are absolutely lovely and the manager goes above and beyond for you! Don’t be put off by these negative reviews!!!
Read on GoogleIn response to the recent review posted by Anonymous Writer two weeks ago, I would like to confirm the following: This review is completely unfounded, and is typical unfortunately of a retaliation, made following an unsuccessful recruitment of an individual who is not at the required standard of Playdays. After 25 years of excellent practice we are concerned only with the views of our parents and our regulatory body Ofsted, therefore Playdays remains committed to quality best practice, which is reflected within our official reports and established reputation.
