About this day nursery

The Playdor Nursery School, established over 30 years ago, is owned by Lucy and Cheryl, who together bring over three decades of experience in the childcare sector. Both hold BA (Hons) degrees in Children, Schools and Families, with Cheryl also being a qualified Early Years Teacher.

Their passion lies in providing high-quality education and a stimulating environment where children can thrive. Having their own children attend Playdor Nurseries, they deeply understand the importance of selecting a safe and secure learning environment.

The nursery operates 51 weeks a year, closing only for one week between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays. They are committed to fostering a fun, curious, and engaging atmosphere for all children, prioritising their well-being and development.

The team focuses on professional development for staff, maintaining excellent health and safety standards, and ensuring all children receive the best possible start in life.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The setting quickly identifies the needs of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Children with SEND are well supported and benefit from the same opportunities as their peers. Leaders use additional funding appropriately to meet children's needs.

Outdoor space

Children play hoopla in the garden and negotiate climbing structures. Staff provide many opportunities for children to be physically active throughout the day. Older children benefit from regular swimming lessons.

I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough all the staff are amazing especially preschool who have been amazing with my daughter, who really struggles with new people and settling into new places. Sarah, Corrinne & Rachel are so lovely and always so welcoming when we arrive. We will be so sad to leave to go to school!
