Playdor Nursery School, established over 26 years ago, has been under the ownership of Lucy and Cheryl since May 2015. With a combined experience of over three decades in childcare, they are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children at their Chorley location.

The nursery, housed in a converted bungalow on Chorley Hall Road since 2009, emphasises a warm, homely, and individualised approach to care. Both owners hold BA (Hons) degrees in Children, Schools, and Families, with Cheryl also being a qualified Early Years Teacher, demonstrating their commitment to high-quality education and continuous professional development for their staff.

They firmly believe in creating stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that foster curiosity, learning, and fun, always placing the children's best interests at the forefront. Their goal is to ensure every child receives the best possible start in life within a safe and secure setting, understanding the importance of this decision as parents themselves.

How they support every child

SEND provision

The curriculum is ambitious for all children and staff ensure that children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have timely access to appropriate support. Additional funding is spent thoughtfully to support children's individual needs, and staff work with other professionals and families to support all children well.

Outdoor space

Staff with a love for the outdoors support the team to implement these areas of teaching. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
