Playmates Day Nursery

About this day nursery

Playmates Day Nursery provides care for children from birth to four years old in Stoke-on-Trent. Registered with Ofsted in 2018, the day nursery is open all year round, from Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 5.30pm. Ofsted inspected the nursery in June 2021 and rated it Good. The inspector reported that children are happy, confident and eager to learn, and that staff create an inclusive environment for all children.

Learning is based on a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities. Children have opportunities to be physically active in the fresh air and take part in regular outings to the local park. Staff support children's early language and literacy development and maintain strong links with local schools to support smooth transitions. The inspector noted that the setting effectively supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities by working with parents and other professionals. Parents told the inspector their children are happy at the nursery and have made good progress.

What it's like

Children arrive at the nursery happy and eager to learn. Parents and children are greeted warmly by the professional and friendly staff, who create an inviting and inclusive environment for all children. Children are making good progress from their starting points and learn through an effective balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities. Children are extremely confident and their behaviour is exemplary, playing cooperatively and developing special friendships.
