About this day nursery

Tunstall Methodist Church Playgroup, established in 1993, provides outstanding early years education for children aged 2 to 4 years. 15pm during term-time, the playgroup ensures children receive an excellent foundation for their learning.

The manager and staff prioritise helping children form close attachments, fostering a safe, relaxed, and happy environment where even the youngest children confidently express their needs. Children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) receive outstanding support, with recent training further enhancing staff knowledge in providing exceptional teaching.

The dedicated SENCo and staff meticulously craft educational programmes that precisely match individual learning needs, with focused teaching to help children with language delays excel.

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive outstanding support. Recent training has supported staff to further secure their knowledge to provide outstanding teaching for children with SEND. The special educational needs and/or disabilities coordinator (SENCo) and staff ensure they provide children with SEND the educational programmes that precisely match their learning needs. Staff work diligently to ensure that children with language delay receive highly focused teaching so they also have the opportunity to excel.

The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

Led by volunteers, it's a fantastic place. Unfortunately, my place is time sensitive, and so for me, 30mins was too long a wait... I saw someone jump the queue, and I couldn't wait any longer. I'm a local support worker.. I'm afraid I had to leave x

Traditional Methodist welcome at the door for the Sunday 1030am service with tea & biscuits after. There's something on most days so pop in & collect a What's On from the table just inside the front door. Everyone's welcome.
