Children at Poppies Daycare Nursery are observed to be happy, motivated, and engaged in their learning, demonstrating good behaviour and kindness to others.
The curriculum is carefully designed to meet individual needs, promoting excellent progress and preparing children for their next educational stages, including school. The nursery places a strong emphasis on developing children's communication, social, and physical skills, with a particular focus on emotional well-being.
Staff are proactive in their professional development, implementing new strategies like those for developing numeracy skills in pre-schoolers. Children enjoy ample opportunities for outdoor play, including stamping in puddles in the garden, ensuring plenty of fresh air and exercise daily.
Fine motor skills are developed through various activities, such as using single-handed tools and manipulating playdough. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported, with managers effectively using additional funding and the SEND coordinator making appropriate referrals to external agencies.
Staff foster a love of books and support children in developing self-care skills, building their confidence and independence for school. Parents consistently report high satisfaction with the care and learning their children receive, and staff offer guidance to support learning at home.

I couldn't recomend Poppies enough. My 5 year old started there at 11 months old, and my 21 month old is there currently having started at 9 months old. The staff genuinely care about the children in the setting, and their parents/families. They are always happy to offer support and guidance, they are lovely people who I know have/will keep my children safe, provide them cuddles when they fall down and guide them as well as provide them with enriching fun activities. From messy play, outdoor play, baking and crafts, the staff at Poppies have it all covered. My boys have loved their time at Poppies and I will be heartbroken when our time comes to move on. The staff have always made us feel very welcome, and we have an open line of communication regarding my child still in the setting. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
