Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds and with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make timely progress from their starting points. Staff work closely with parents and outside agencies to get children the help they need. External professionals regularly visit the nursery to provide staff with strategies to help children make the best possible progress.

Outdoor space

Staff plan and provide a vast number of opportunities for children to be physically active, both in the large pre-school outdoor garden and at the forest school. Young toddlers use their large muscles to carry big containers of water as they mix their creations of 'puddings' in the mud kitchen. Older children learn new skills, such as using a whittling knife as they peel carrots, and are skilful as they climb trees and refine their balance on the rope swing in the forest school.

Potley Hill Preschool are absolutely fantastic! The staff are dedicated and highly trained, giving the children the best opportunities possible. The forest school is second to none and such a brilliant asset to the Preschool. My two children have passed through here and they still talk about their fun, years on! Couldn't recommend enough!

Potley Hill Community Preschool is a superior, top-notch preschool in the Blackwater/Yateley area. The manager and her staff provide support, comfort, and encouragement to both the children and parents. Both of my children attended the preschool and their time at this fantastic setting prepared them for the next steps in their learning journeys, both academically and socially. All of the ladies have the children's best interests at heart and treat each child as if they were their own. The setting is provides the perfect atmosphere for a growing child to explore, play, and progress. Potley Hill Preschool is, without a doubt, the best preschool in the area. I highly recommend checking it out and seeing how great it is!

Our twin boys have attended this preschool for the last 5 terms, before moving on to primary school. I can't even express how happy we have been with the provision at Potley Hill Preschool. We looked at a number of preschools in the area and once with saw Potley Hill there was no competition at all! The environment was clean, bright and welcoming and the outside provision for the children was so attractive. The boys settled immediately into their life at the preschool and this is largely due to the outstanding care given by all the staff at the preschool. They all took time to get to know the boys so well - they were so clear about their interests and what motivates them to learn. On several occasions I know they adapted activities to ensure they were well tailored to the boys interests at that point of their life. When speaking with other mums and dads about the provision at their preschools I am so happy that we heard about and chose this preschool as in comparison to what I hear from others, I have no doubt that the staff and Potley Hill go over and above to ensure all children are well cared for, motivated to learn and just have the best foundation to the start of their learning. We have absolutely loved the preschool and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area who is looking. We can't wait for our next little boy to start there.

My little boy has been attending Potley Hill Preschool since February 2018. He absolutely loves it and all the staff there. Since Andrea took over and adopted the Curiosity approach, I have seen him thrive and learn without even realising he he is learning! It is like a home from home for them and all of the ladies are caring and so wonderful with the children. Even down to the little things like the fact that they visit the daycare centre and run a healthy snack station, it means that the children are learning more than skills to get them ready for school. I am so happy that I found Potley, I love the sense of community and just how happy my son is there. I will be so sad when he leaves to go to school, but so confident that he has been given the best preparation and has had the most fun before he goes up to school.
