About this day nursery

Puddleducks Meadoway provides dedicated childcare situated in Church, Accrington. The nursery has undergone a full refurbishment, creating a safe, stimulating, and open-plan environment for children to learn and grow.

Dedicated spaces cater to different age groups, starting with a sensory and natural baby room for infants aged 0-1 year, with direct outdoor access. Older babies, aged 1-2 years, transition to a Tweenie room where they can explore their creative side through play.

Younger two-year-olds have a designated Toddler room to foster early independence. For children aged 2-3 years, there are two Pre-Pre rooms that encourage learning through play and also have direct outdoor access to a grassed area with a climbing frame.

The Pre-school room is located in a separate annex building on-site, offering access to both lower and higher outdoor exploratory grounds.

What parents say

Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection

Parents report that they are very well supported and find communication to be one of the main strengths of the nursery.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) works extremely effectively with children who require additional support. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive the very best possible support at the earliest opportunity. The SENCo liaises with the key person to swiftly recognise children who are not meeting expected levels of development and implements accurate and effective plans.

Outdoor space

The older children pretend to make their dinner with the soil and herbs in the outdoor hut. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this was having on children's learning.

An amazing home from home nursery, with experienced and caring staff. The nursery team are very dedicated and long serving and will always go that extra mile to help parents and children in their care. They have a great Ofsted report of a GOOD rating and the report reflects the smooth running of the nursery and the happiness of the children in their care. Definitely give them a call if your looking for a great nursery for your little ones.

Avoid!! Unless you like paying for someone not too look after your child do not send your child here. The manager does not know how too look after children. My son has been sent home near enough every day with a dirty nappy and food all over his face. We have recently had to pull our son out of this nursery due too the managers incompetence. Yesterday we had to go back get our son as they were refusing too administer eye drops, even though a pharmacist spoke to her on the phone and told it was fine too do so. The manager continually stated that it is company policy to not too administer medicine unless prescribed. Her "soultion" was for us take time out of our working day to come back and give him the drops. We both work full time. This is just the tip of the iceberg off incompetence. Over the past 4 weeks since. This is laughable. We have received multiple different stories about our sons day. The sheet is never filled in correctly and I personally think he hasn't been fed nearly enough, when he comes home he is always starving. Oh by the way he is 10 months old. They are neglectly, horrendous and how they have good ofsted score I will never know this manager must be new. Avoid at all costs if you have your child's best interest at heart which these people clearly do not.
