Ragamuffins Day Nursery, located in Redditch, Worcestershire, provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children from birth to four years old. 30am until 6pm, accommodating up to 62 children with a roll of 120.

The dedicated team of 16 childcare staff, including the owner and manager, comprises twelve members qualified to early years level 3 and three with early years teacher status. The nursery is committed to communication and language development, utilising action songs and rhymes, and supporting children with special educational needs through a dedicated SEND coordinator.

Children enjoy extensive periods outdoors in the "Ragaden" and woodland area, fostering physical well-being and a connection with nature. Parents consistently praise the staff as kind, knowledgeable, and dedicated, highlighting the inclusive environment and individualised care provided.

The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy extensive periods of time playing outdoors. This promotes their physical and mental well-being. The all-weather space has covered outdoor classrooms created to provide safe, challenging activities to continue children's learning outdoors. This includes the "Ragaden" and woodland area where children can explore nature. Staff timetable the day meticulously to maximise children's access to this stimulating outdoor environment.
