How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) progress well. Staff accurately identify gaps in children's learning and act swiftly to support them. They work closely with parents to devise support plans and liaise with external professionals for advice and guidance. The knowledgeable and qualified staff implement strategies from specific programmes while they await external support. This ensures that children with SEND receive the necessary support in a timely manner.

Outdoor space

Children particularly flourish in the outdoors, learning to manage their own risk as staff encourage their risky play. They collect leaves and acorns, make 'ice cream' with water and paint, and learn about the features of leaves as they stick them together to make a leaf basket. Children learn to navigate space competently and show an awareness of managing risk as they climb over wooden obstacles and ladders.

On waiting list for 18 months, I am sure something is not right with this. 3 months pregnant and I added name on waiting list, my son is 11 months now and literally no updates from them. So infants don’t grow out to go to different rooms here? Or what’s the issue? It’s a bizarre of 18 months wait, or they just forgot to update me. Whatever, it’s really bad experience for us and each time on call too no help on any status even after 18 MONTHS

The Rainbow Nursery (Langdon road ) started this year ,initially we were not sure about the nursery as it is the brand new nursery but very soon we realised that our decision was perfect .The staff - Very supportive and nurturing ,my son is becoming very independent thanks to his teachers. I am so glad we choose the Rainbow Nursery as I can see the difference clearly. Thank you so much for making the difference…he looks so happy and engaged am sure he is having the best time of his life ,also We have great pleasure in seeing the photos of his activities at the nursery .The environment which has been created is very conducive to learning and development ,including encouraging them to eat all their lunch! Over all experience with the Rainbow Nursery is fantastic and we would definitely recommend to others.

This was my first choice of nursery due to vicinity to home and ofstead rating, however communication is very poor. I tried to book a place when I was just 19 weeks pregnant (to get my baby a place for when he is 9 months old - so very well in advance). I followed all the steps recommended to me and called various times to follow up. I was repeatedly told that I would be contacted within a few weeks. I was never contacted and am now at 32 weeks! Thankfully, we signed up with a different nursery many months ago and have secured a place there. I am sure Rainbow Days is a lovely place but communication really needs to be improved - bear this in mind if you are looking to register your baby here.
