Ramsden Preschool, established in 1964, provides an outstanding early years experience for children aged 2 to 4 years, operating during school term-time. 45pm on Fridays.

Children are truly at the heart of this setting, as noted in the outstanding Ofsted report of June 2024. Leaders and staff foster a captivating and inviting environment that sparks curiosity and a sense of discovery.

Children arrive happy and quickly become engrossed in the enriching learning opportunities, supported by nurturing staff. The curriculum is rich, ambitious, and exceptionally well-sequenced, with staff highly involved in planning meaningful activities that consider each child's needs, abilities, and interests.

Early intervention is highly valued, ensuring all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make rapid progress. The outdoor environment also plays a vital role in learning, with children enjoying collaborative activities such as building a car park with large bricks, developing problem-solving and thinking skills.

The passionate and knowledgeable staff inspire children to learn about the world around them, from the life cycle of a duck to exploring different cultures, such as Africa, contributing to their communication, language, and understanding of the world. Children also have excellent opportunities to develop role-play skills and strengthen social interactions.
