The recent Ofsted inspection on 13th March 2024 rated the nursery as "Good" overall, highlighting the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Staff are noted for their warm greetings and for using information about children's home lives to foster a sense of welcome and inclusion.
Children form strong relationships with their key person, exploring the environment and engaging in play with friends. The curriculum, designed by leaders, is well-thought-out, ensuring children build on prior learning.
The bilingual approach is a key feature, with both French and English spoken equally, and staff focusing on vocabulary development in both languages. Children are supported to value their cultural heritage and appreciate diversity, with resources reflecting various family types. The nursery has robust SEND provision, with staff using observations and assessments to identify developmental delays, make timely referrals, and work with parents to put support plans in place.

My child goes to Raphael Day Nursery in Hammersmith and its Absolutely the Best: A Truly Exceptional Nursery! From the moment we first stepped into Raphael Nursery, we knew we had found a special place. Saying that the staff are "caring and wonderful" doesn't even begin to cover it—they are superb. They treat every child as an individual, with incredible warmth, genuine affection, and deep respect. The atmosphere at Raphael Nursery is consistently nurturing, positive, and engaging. The dedicated team creates a stimulating environment where our child has not just been looked after, but has truly flourished both socially and developmentally. They communicate brilliantly, providing detailed updates and making us feel like true partners in our child's early education. Honestly, we couldn't imagine a better start for our child. Raphael Nursery is not just a good nursery; it is the best nursery it can possibly be. We recommend them wholeheartedly to any family looking for a place where their child will be loved, safe, and encouraged to grow every single day. Five stars is not enough! Read on GoogleOur children attend Raphael Day Nursery in Hammersmith, our daughter has been there for two years and our little boy since May this year, and we truly know they could not be in a better place. Choosing a nursery is one of the most important decisions for any parent, as you are trusting others to care for your baby for many hours a day. As soon as we visited Raphael, learned about their educational approach, and most importantly met the team, we immediately felt it was the right place. Over time, that initial feeling has only grown stronger, and our expectations have been exceeded in every possible way. The staff are extremely caring, attentive and always go the extra mile, even outside of their working hours. Our children love going to nursery and adore the staff, and that can only mean that they feel safe, loved and happy there. All the activities are thoughtfully planned, always supporting the children’s development and independence. It is also a real gift for them to grow up in such a multicultural and bilingual environment, which benefits them both cognitively and socially. Choosing Raphael Day Nursery has been one of the best decisions we have made as parents. Seeing our children happy, confident and learning every day is truly priceless.
Read on GoogleMy child goes to Raphael Day Nursery in Hammersmith and has the most fantastic time. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. They made my toddler (and us) feel part of the family from the start. Activities change daily, wonderful food, outside play, stories, songs and cuddles. With a helpful app updating us at the end of the day with photos of what he has been up to. The settling in process was well thought out and gave us so much confidence in leaving him for the first time.
Read on GoogleMy child goes to Raphaël Day Nursery in Hammersmith and we feel so grateful to have found this little gem. Everyone from the practitioners to the office staff is incredibly kind, caring, and professional. It genuinely feels like they’ve become part of our family. We have complete trust in every member of the team, and our child has truly flourished, moving happily from the baby room to the toddler room. The bilingual environment is fantastic, with half the staff speaking exclusively French and the other half English, and daily activities in both languages. We get detailed updates and photos on the app at the end of each day, and time with our child's key person at pickup to chat about how their day went. Meals are freshly prepared each day by Chef Andrew and always sound (and smell!) delicious. From the very beginning, we’ve been impressed by the atmosphere of kindness and care that fills the nursery. It’s clear in the way older children greet and look after the younger ones that the adults around them lead with kindness and empathy. I also love seeing how my child is making friends and bonding with her peers, and I’ve been able to share in that sense of community through the monthly social events, which have been a lovely way to meet other parents and connect outside of nursery hours. We couldn’t recommend Raphaël Day Nursery more highly, it’s a wonderful place for children to grow, learn, and thrive!
Read on GoogleMy child goes to Raphael Day Nursery in Hammersmith and after having had a bad experience at another local nursery, the team at Raphael’s really helped us regain confidence and trust. From the initial introductory emails all the way through to transitioning through the different age groups, the whole team work seamlessly together to make it a positive and educational experience. Our daughter has developed incredibly well thanks to the educators, and has created some incredible relationships with both staff and peers, while also learning skills she wouldn’t have had the opportunity to explore elsewhere. Parents are informed about their child’s development regularly, and have access to an app that shares daily updates, photos and a newsletter is shared regularly to inform parents of upcoming events or clever ideas on creative and educational games you can play at home. Thanks to their bilingual approach to their daily activities, it truly allows the children to soak up a second language completely organically. The pièce de résistance has to be how well they organise their family days and special events, making sure to include older siblings who don’t attend the nursery, and making it a really inclusive environment for all.
