Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The manager continues to undertake special educational needs training to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff know children's needs, stages of development and the individual ways in which they communicate. This enables staff to tailor learning experiences to ensure children make the best possible progress. The manager has built partnerships with other professionals to enable additional guidance and help to be sought when required.

Outdoor space

Pre-school children enjoy mark making. They use clipboards, paper and pen as they search the garden, looking for different-coloured items or finding out how many adults are outside. Consequently, children learn that print or marks carry meaning, and their mathematical knowledge is supported.

We’ve sent our son to Rascals since he was 10 months old and the team there have done an amazing job looking after him. We were apprehensive at first as we had not been away from him for long periods of time but they have always been absolutely brilliant with him. We get regular updates and pictures via the app where we can also track his development! Harvey always loves to attend and we can’t thank you all enough :)

I am only giving one star because I cannot give no stars. This is by far the worst nursery I have ever heard of. My son had selective mutism which was pointed out by the nursery as he did not talk for 2 years. There was no extra support given to him and I only became aware of how poorly he has been treated after he left. The Senco department at Glebe School managed to get him whispering in an hour in comparison to 2 years, 3 days a week. My son has since leaving the nursery stopped stuttering and started to speak to everyone. He has also asked if I will protect him from the nasty lady there. He clings onto my hand so tightly and says don’t make me go back. I literally haven’t got enough space to say what I want to but I honestly feel terrible having left him here not knowing and would hate for another parent to feel the same. My son started going from a young age and didn’t know any better and to be honest the nursery nurses are lovely but I would seriously think twice about this place if your child needs a bit of help. I was a first time parent and it has only been since working with everyone at Glebe School that I realised he should have been helped so much more.
